Module nine: Checking for progress

Overview

This module provides information about completing the teaching and learning cycle begun in Modules Three to Eight of Early Literacy Online. It is designed to be completed over two weeks.

The task is to use the process outlined to assess your target students, analyse the assessment data and reflect on what you and your students have achieved during Early literacy online.

Requirements

Ensure that you have the following:

  • your ELO course folder that contains the tasks that you have completed during the course.

These are:

Modules 3 to 5

  • Reading Assessment Questions
  • initial running records for each of your target students
  • Reading Assessment Summary (RAS) sheet
  • Reading Behaviours sheet
  • Guided Reading Lesson Plans

Modules 6 to 8

  • Self Marking Questions
  • initial writing samples
  • Writing Observations and Conference proformas
  • Writing Behaviours proformas
  • Writing Analysis Summary
  • Plan for Teaching and Learning  
  • texts (for running record assessments) at, or above, your students' reading ability
  • texts (for understanding text assessments) with literal, inferential and applied level questions already prepared
  • English K–6 Syllabus.
