Introduction

The introduction will help teachers to:

  • select the appropriate teaching methods to address the syllabus outcomes and content

  • identify the challenges posed by Stage 6 Science syllabuses for both teachers and students

  • consider how to best meet the students' challenges in tasks which require them to access and process information from secondary sources

  • accurately interpret the scope and depth of the syllabus outcomes and content

  • reflect on their current practice and teaching and learning strategies in science

  • identify features of quality teaching and learning and consider how to include them in their Stage 6 Science courses.
