Unit: Experimenting with sound
Part A: Objectives
and outcomes
The lessons are designed to present and revise terminology related to sound and its organisation
into music by engaging students in listening, performing and composing
activities. This focus is clearly reflected in the Music 7–10 Syllabus objectives.
Music 7–10 Syllabus objectives
Students will develop knowledge, understanding and skills in the concepts of music through:
- performing as
a means of self-expression, interpreting musical symbols and developing
solo and/or ensemble techniques
- composing as a means of self-expression, musical creation and problem-solving
- listening as a means of extending aural awareness and communicating ideas about
music in social, cultural and historical contexts.
This unit addresses the following Stage 4 syllabus outcomes:
